ARES "BASIC TRAINING" PROGRAM CONTINUES A program of emergency preparedness "basic training" continued during April and May. In April, we offered an overview on the Basic Incident Command system, and how amateur radio communications fit into the structure. In May our training was on Spotter Preparation, Safety, and Communication. In July, Heather Schlesser, KC9DEQ, will offer training on the ARRL Radiogram format and messaging. Heather has completed both the Level I and Level II ARRL Emcomm Courses and has almost completed Level III.Ê TONE CHANGED ON .060 REPEATER The PL tone on the 147.060 repeater has been changed o 131.8 to deal with some interference issues. You need the tone to access the repeater, but not to receive. Be sure your radios are programmed with this new tone. NEW NET CHECK-IN LIST POSTED ON WEB An updated net check-in list is now available on the WA9RES web site. Please be sure you use it for any future nets.
