Drills and Exercises

Drills and practice exercises are held a number of times during the year to practice communication techniques, test different capabilities and equipment, and test personal preparedness.  ARES members are encouraged to participate in drills in order to become familiar with procedures, to test their own personal preparedness, and foster teamwork.

The ARRL Simulated Emergency Test (SET) is a nationwide exercise in emergency communications held on a weekend in October.
